The Little Things

Inspiring things for me quite often comes from the little
things in life and in crafts! If you are not quite sure what
to do with those little bits and pieces around your craft
area don't be afraid to just dig in. You never know what
will inspire you while digging through it all. I tend to layer
things on top of each other to see it could become. This
process is so easy and quite fun!

Buttons?! Who can get enough of buttons. I know that I have tons
in all different shapes, sizes, and colors!
Color?! I know that we have a lot of this too floating around
as well. Mix, match, and just go plain wild! It will truly help
you learn yourself and grow in the art of color.
You know that we have to throw some lovely Prima flowers in there!
There are so many endless possibilities when it comes to these
lovelies!
USE IT!!! Playing is oh so nice I know but we have to us it.
I know that I do once I get started! I made this clear tag
using some little things from my stash shown in the above
pictures. This is just an awesome way to use some things up
and with all the Go Green going on you can feel good about
doing a small part!
Enjoy the little things in life, for they are the most treasured!

Customizing your leftover flowers

One of the things that I love so much about Prima Flowers are the absolutely endless possbilities that they present! You can cut them, layer them, stamp the, paint them and so much more!

One of my favorite things to do is to create my own custom fancy flowers for my page. Sometimes you just want something extra, something fancier and something unique for your project. Here is how I create my own custom flowers using prima flowers.

Supplies needed:

3 or more Prima flowers in varying sizes
adhesive
stickles
decorative brad

To create your custom flower:

1.) layer your flowers together, adhering them as you layer.

2.) add your decorative brad to the flowers in the center:

3.) using a removable adhesive, place flower on a peice of plastic or wax paper. Using your stickles, carefully out line all of the petals that you can see. Let dry.

Wah-lah! A beautiful, fancy and most of all CUSTOM floral embellishment that is sure to grab attention!

made your own glitter flower

prima flowers are so beautiful. But you can also altered its so why don't you decorate its with glitter?

to make your own, you can use stickles and stickles from Ranger.
What the difference between stickles and ice stickles? well, in stickles, glitter and glue are tinted but in ice stickles, only glitter is tinted, the glue is perfectly clear when it dry.

how to use stickles and ice stickles?
you can use ice stickles all over the flower like on this example to have a sweet glitter flower. Just apply the glue on the flower and let it dry. That's all!!

or use stickles in the center of flowers like here

that's not the only possibilities you have to create with stickles. So just try and enjoy!

good news: stickles and ice stickles are now available in café prima store!

still again, sorry for my poor english, my french is better!

Lots of new projects

The DT members of Cafe Prima made some beautiful projects again this month. Cafe Prima got lots of new flowers and look what the DT members made with it:

An altered pencil holder by Crissy Le, that's such a great idea:

Sasha made this beautiful layout, look how she used the square from the blue paper also to cut a square in the yellow paper that it matches right. It gives a great composition:

Carole made this lovely layout with lots of flowers, and look how she made a circle with the flowers and a subtile bling swirl in the corner to give it a little bit of magic touch:

Storing Prima Flowers

I believe we have tons of Prima flowers lying around our scrapping area. Some still in their packaging, some loose ones around and some organized in other storage. Some time back, I thought my Prima flowers needed to breathe a little more. I took them out from their packaging and transferred them into medium size zip lock bags... and hung them onto cute kiddo's hangers. i'm sure some friendly departmental stores will gladly donate some of these cute practical hangers !

Let us know how you store yours ! :)

Mother's Day card

Hi everyone,
I made a Mother's Day card and thought you all would like to see how I did that.

Step 1:
First choose the products you want on your card, I choose cardstock, chipboard, stamps, say it in crystal swirls, rub-ons, and to make the flower: lace, a button, needles, DMC thread.

Step 2:
Rub a rub-on in the two opposite corners.

Step 3:
Cut a small round from a piece of cardstock, and punch two holes in it with your needle.

Step 4:
Attach the button with the DMC thread to the piece of cardstock.

Step 5 and 6:
Frumble the lace and stitch it on the cardstock around the button.

Step 7:
Place the chipboard letters on the card, and stamp the other letters.

Step 8:
Place the Say it in crystals Swirl and the flower in the corner.

Step 9:
On the inside I used chipboard letters for the date and used rub-ons in the corners. With alphabet stamps I wrote ’happy mothers day’ .

Hope you all get inspired, and if you have any questions, just ask!!
greetings Sanderijn
